Upon Arrival At The Sanctuary... the pet rock care begins!

Upon Arrival at Rock Rescue…

Each and every new arrival to the Rock Rescue Sanctuary receives a thorough cleaning, physical examination and is evaluated for any temperament and behavioral issues. Unless there is any recent medical information available, each rock, stone and pebble receive a full checkup, vaccinations, flea and tick prevention and is spayed or neutered. We also ensure any additional medical care or injury treatment that may be required or any issue that may affect the adoptability of any pet rock is addressed prior to adoption.

While With Us…

Here at Rock Rescue, we understand that it can be a very difficult and stressful time for a new arrival to our facility and that each individual deals with the transition in their own time. With that in mind, we try to make the first moments and their ongoing time with us at the sanctuary as pleasant and stimulating as possible.

All of our rocks receive the best in pet rock care. Daily hikes in our fields and on our wooded trails rain or shine. After temperament and behavioral issues are assessed, most enjoy play time in groups with other rocks, stones and pebbles. However, sometimes, the pet rock may not be socialized enough or are simply too skittish or sick in the beginning for group time. Special and extra attention is given to those individuals till they are ready to join the others in our group.

Whatever the case may be…

The Rock Rescue team is always working hard ‘round the clock, 364 ½ days a year to ensure that each and every rock, stone and pebble here in our care receives premium food, plenty of human company, mentally and physically stimulating games and activities, expert medical care, and above all…a whole lot of love.

Some of the rescues that we come across here at Rock Rescue aren’t adoptable due to many different factors. Some rocks display severe aggression while others have been neglected for so long that they just can’t trust humans anymore. As sad as it is for these rocks… Rock Rescue is what’s known as a No Kill Shelter. That means that although these pet rocks may never become adoptable, they will always have a home here with us at the Rock Rescue Sanctuary. Our caring staff will provide them with all the love and attention they need to thrive and live a happy and healthy life.
