With little food and only minimal water, she was dehydrated and malnourished, rapidly wasting away to nothing. By the time Rock Rescue arrived to help, she weighed in at only half of what she normally should. Shaking and scared, cold, wet and distraught, no one was sure if she was going to make it.
Shaking and scared, cold, wet and distraught, no one was sure if she was going to make it. The Rock Rescue team managed to get minks and all her 47 pebbles out of that heartbreaking situation.
Fast forward to 6 months later… Minks is thriving. She is eating well and has since regained her weight. Her litter of pebbles that were also rescued have also gotten a clean bill of health. The pebbles have since all been adopted to wonderful and loving families and will now have what we hope will be their forever homes.
Unfortunately, even though Minks’ physical health is back up to par, her psychological state will prevent her from ever being adopted. Most likely forever! She has spent so many years mistreated and locked away in unspeakable conditions. All the while being forced to give up her litters one after the other. She no longer trusts humans. With proper medication and gradual physical contact there is a chance that may change in the future. But till then, Minks will remain here at the Rock Rescue Sanctuary where she can get all the care and love she needs to recover from this. An almost happy ending that we’re still hoping to have happen soon.
